
Dawid Lubowicz
comes from Zakopane, from a family of rich music tradition. He graduated from the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, from the violin class of Konstanty A. Kulka and also from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, from the jazz violin class of Henryk Gembalski.
Dawid Lubowicz received awards at several festivals and contests. Recently he won: 4th Prize in Crossover Composition Award 2015, 3rd prize in The First International Zbigniew Seifert Jazz Violin Competition 2014 and also Special Prize awarded by Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music. With Atom String Quartet: Grand Prix Jazz Melomans 2010, Jazz Angel of Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa 2011, Fryderyk 2012 (Jazz Phonographic Debut of the Year), Gold Fiddle of New Tradition Festival 2012, Fryderyk 2013 (Jazz Album of the Year), Grand Prize of the 9th Bucharest International Jazz Competition in 2015.
He cooperated with many Polish and international artists, i.e.: Mino Cinelu, Lars Danielsson, Krzesimir Dębski, Urszula Dudziak, Zohar Fresco, Paolo Fresu, Gil Goldstein, Wolfgang Haffner, Mathias Haus, Krzysztof Herdzin, Anna Maria Jopek, Christian von Kaphengst, Kayah, Natalia Kukulska, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Branford Marsalis, Bobby McFerrin, Marek Moś, Leszek Możdżer, André Ochodlo, Janusz Olejniczak, Grzech Piotrowski, Vladislav `Adzik` Sendecki, Józef Skrzek, Rupert Stamm, Adam Sztaba, Elżbieta Wojnowska, Aga Zaryan, and bands, such as: AUKSO, Elbląg Chamber Orchestra, Motion Trio, Grzech Piotrowski World Orchestra and Sinfonia Viva.
As an artist he also is a composer and arranger. For many years he has been cooperating with, e.g.: Atom String Quartet, Roma Musical Theatre in Warsaw, Polish National Theatre, The Old Theatre in Lublin, Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, Musical Theatre of D. Baduszkowa in Gdynia, The Musical Theatre in Poznań. With his brother he is the co-author of music for the newest Roma Musical Theatre’s title “The Pilots”.
His CD “Inside” was released in May 2018; it is his first album as a leader/soloist.
