On April 25, as part of the Closing Gala of Polish Film Festival Kinoteka, the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London will host a screening of The Hourglass Sanatorium by the Quay Brothers, accompanied by a live performance from the Bester Quartet and renowned jazz vocalist Grażyna Auguścik.
As part of the musical project “The Hourglass Sanatorium”, the musicians will present phenomenal arrangements of themes by John Zorn, created as part of a cycle dedicated to the memory of Bruno Schulz. This musical tribute is filled with soundscapes suspended between dream and reality, directly referencing the masterful prose of Schulz.
The event is part of the UK/Poland Season 2025, organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Polish Cultural Institute, and the British Council. The organization of the Season in the United Kingdom would not be possible without the support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
